Cleanhome York were very quick to respond to my initial query and were able to find me the right support in less than one week. I was looking for a cleaner as soon as possible … but I never thought Cleanhome would be able to act so quickly. I had not heard of Cleanhome York before so I was very impressed with this service. Sunday afternoon projects with the Kids –

Keeping children entertained through the long weekends can be tricky to most of us. With summer holidays just around the corner stock up on these handy little crafts to do with the kids.

Craft stick Airplanes –

These simple and easy Airplanes have very little requirements but have potential for hours of fun.

You will need:

  • 3 craft sticks
  • 1 clothes peg
  • Paint
  • Glue

This image is from simpleideas.com

Follow the instructions from simpleplayideas.com here.

  1. Firstly cut one of the craft sticks into thirds and use the center piece for the tail.
  2. Next paint all the pieces to whichever colours are wanted.
  3. Once dry simply glue the two whole craft sticks at the head of the peg and the tail piece onto the bottom.
  4. Leave to dry and then play away.

Homemade Lightsaber-

With the second iteration of star wars movies now out making these homemade lightsabers has never been more fun.

  • This simple craft only needs:
  • A torch
  • Coloured cellophane
  • White Paper
  • Sellotape

This image is from wikihow.com

The wikihow instructions are very easy to follow and it takes no time at all.

  1. Choose the colour of your lightsaber and add a circle of cellophane coloured to your choice to the lens of the torch. This will make it light up correctly.
  2. Craft tubes using the paper which matches the width of the torch
  3. Finally attach the tubes over the head of the torch overlapping the tubes as minimally as possible.
  4. The lightsaber is now complete. Turn on the torch to power it up

Wine Cork Boats –

With a very simple design these mini cork pirate ships are great for a fun day out at the park where you can race them against each other to find the ultimate pirate ship.

You will need:

  • Wine Corks
  • Cellotape
  • Toothpick
  • Elastic bands
  • Paper for a sail

This image is from redtedart.com

The redtedart.com blog posted this brilliant idea.

  1. Place elastic bands around 3 corks of similar sizes to make the base. It is recommended to use 2 bands, one on either side of the corks
  2. Design your sail to look like anything you like such as the famous pirate skull and cross bones ready to take to the seas.
  3. Add the sail to a toothpick by piercing it through the bottom and the top whilst bending the middle
  4. Finally stick the toothpick into the center cork and you are ready to go
  5. If you are using this in a public space it is recommended to attach a piece of string to it so as to not lose it

These three simple ideas are great ways to keep the kids entertained throughout the weekends and holidays.

Peace of Mind

Only 1 in 50 applicants makes it on to our carefully screened database. We interview them twice, visit them in their own homes and take up at least two references. And if they still subsequently don't measure up to your standards, we will send you someone who does.

Personal Cleaner

We don't operate in teams, and therefore you get the same cleaner every week. This is good because you develop a relationship with your cleaner. We have some clients who have had the same cleaner for years and years - and that's what we want for you.
