How to clean and maintaining kitchen bamboo tools

Bamboo kitchen tools are a brilliant addition to any kitchen. They are versatile and look smart in any kitchen. Did you know bamboo tools are not actually wooden as bamboo is classed as a type of grass. Cleaning bamboo tools is something that requires some care. Do not wash your new tools in the dishwasher as the heat can scorch them.

We have found some great tips to clean and maintain your bamboo tools from pricedtolove.com. Follow their simple step by step guide below:

Step 1 –

Wash your tools using Ph balanced soap or regular dish soap. Use a cleaning cloth or brush to scrub away any food left on the tool.

Step 2 –

Rinse the tools in warm water to remove soap and bubbles.

Step 3 –

Pat the tools dry using a clean cloth as best as you can. Once you have done this leave them standing vertically in a drying rack.

Dry tools –

If you find your tools are starting to look and feel dried out you can condition them using oil. There is a special bamboo conditioning oil available at most stores or you can use ordinary mineral oil. To apply simply put a few drops of oil on a cloth and rub over the tool. Repeat this process if needed. The tool should be left to dry for a couple of days before being used again.

Extra tips for bamboo tool care –

  1. Rinse tools immediately after use to prevent food buildups
  2. Use the dull side of a knife to remove stuck on food particles
  3. Do not leave your tool in water for extended periods of time as this will shorten its life

Peace of Mind

Only 1 in 50 applicants makes it on to our carefully screened database. We interview them twice, visit them in their own homes and take up at least two references. And if they still subsequently don't measure up to your standards, we will send you someone who does.

Personal Cleaner

We don't operate in teams, and therefore you get the same cleaner every week. This is good because you develop a relationship with your cleaner. We have some clients who have had the same cleaner for years and years - and that's what we want for you.
